Cremation Services

Private Cremation

During a private cremation, your pet will be cremated alone, and their ashes will be returned to you in the urn of your choosing. We have strict measures put into place to ensure your pet is tracked and cared for throughout this entire process. If desired, you may arrange for a tour of our facility and meet the staff that will be caring for your loved one.

Witness Cremation

If you would like to be with your pet throughout more of the process, you may wish to consider scheduling a witness cremation. Prior to the cremation, we allow you and your family some final moments with your pet in our viewing room. When you are ready, you may witness the beginning stages of your pet's cremation as you watch our team gently place your pet into the cremation chamber. Bringing your pet's cremated remains back home with you the same day is a possibility. Please contact our office if you are considering any of these services. Additional fees apply.

Communal Cremation

During a communal cremation, your pet will be cremated alongside other pets and we will spread their cremated remains in the beautiful scattering meadow located on our property. We are able to put some cremains aside for your family to scatter, however your pet is not able to come home with you. You are welcome to come visit our Scattering Meadow at any time.

Euthanasia Appointment Booking

If you are struggling with arranging end-of-life services, Part of the Family can provide information and support when booking euthanasia appointment through one of our partnered registered veterinarians. Note that not all last-minute requests can be met, so please try to provide as much notice as possible.

Home Transfers

If your pet has been euthanized or passed away naturally, we are able to come directly to your home to transfer your pet to our facility. We also offer transfers directly from your vet clinic following euthanasia appointments. Call us at (780) 756-7387 to arrange a transfer.

Comfort Room

A time of visitation allows you and your family the opportunity to spend extra time with your pet before they are cremated. You are welcome to arrange a viewing once your pet has been transferred into our care. Additional family members, friends, and live pets are able to attend. Our comfort room is designed for the purpose of being able to spend this time in a peaceful and private setting for those needing additional time to say goodbye. There is no charge for a viewing. To inquire about arranging this service, call us at (780) 756-7387.

Meadow Walk

The meadow located on our property is available for families to scatter their pet’s cremated remains and visit at any time. There are several sitting areas to rest or eat at, and we offer bubbles and balloons to anyone wishing to create a small ceremony during their visit. Live pets may also be brought along to walk through the meadow with your family.

Pet Burial

If you would like to ensure that your pet’s remains will be cared for and undisturbed in perpetuity, we provide on-site burials in our pet cemetery. We offer a full service, viewing opportunity, and a private interment.

Educational Memorial

To train the next generation of veterinary professionals and in turn help pets for decades to come, veterinary colleges and universities accept donated pet remains to be used for educational purposes. We are proudly partnered with the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians (EASAV) and currently accept cats and dogs under 25 KG. If going this route, you may still request keepsake products from our facility before your pet is donated. Cremation of your beloved pet is still available to families once studies are complete. Communal cremations are free of charge and private cremations are offered at 50% off.

Necropsy

In instances when families are searching for the reason as to why their pet has passed on, a registered veterinarian can help arrange a necropsy through either the University of Calgary or the University of Saskatoon. Once the necropsy is complete, Part of the Family can help create a memorial for your pet through our cremation or burial services. Please contact us if you need support navigating this process.
